Conditional 100% off up to 5 items, charge for most expensive item on 6+

I want a single discount code that grants 100% off (and free shipping) for orders of 1–5 items across all products, but if a customer adds a 6th item the discount should change so the customer must pay for the most expensive item (i.e., only the other items are free).
