Inventory decrease for scheduled orders

when someone places an order for a subscription, and I have a cut-off date in place (to avoid back to back charges)… the fulfillment status in shopify updates to SCHEDULED. the problem is, my inventory doesnt decrease when someone orders, so I have the risk of overselling OR I have to do a complicated workaround
