Only send one notification to customers who sign up for multiple variants

Our issue is that people are getting the notification for every product variant they sign up to. We need a setting where people just get one notification- for example they sign up for the product level, not the variant level, or a setting where even if people sign up for multiple variants, they only get one notification.
