subscriber referral program

I’d like to set up a referral program for my subscription service, but I’m not sure how to proceed. My goal is for each of my subscribers to receive a unique promo code. If a new customer uses this code, the referring subscriber should get a discount on their next box (ideally applied to their 2nd or 3rd order).
